Making Wind Work

While wind and solar systems can play a significant role in generating energy, their biggest flaw is the source itself—wind doesn’t blow constantly and the sun only shines (at best) during the day.

Battery systems provide several benefits over stand-alone systems. First, they allow energy that is generated during off-peak hours to be stored and utilized during peak demand. Secondly, because peak-demand energy is more expensive than energy generated during off-peak, developers, utility companies and end-users gain access to more available energy.

GETI is working closely with battery systems manufacturers and taking an integrated approach to their use with other renewable resources such as wind and solar. See our Energy Campus page.
